Cookies and storage

What this site keeps in your browser, for how long, and which outside tools could add their own. Outside tools load only when we have switched them on, and only with your consent where the law asks for it.

The short version

MUUS keeps a few small things in your browser, never shared with anyone: how you found us, what you have seen on this visit, a Start a project you have not sent yet, and your privacy choice. MUUS sets two cookies of its own, and both hold your privacy choice. Our own visit measurement sets no cookie. The outside tools below set their own cookies only while they are on.

For this visit only (session storage)

These stay until you close the tab.

  • How you found us: the campaign tags in the link you arrived on, the site that sent you and the page you landed on (muus_lt, muus_fn_utm, muus_fn_ref).
  • A random id for the open tab and when the visit started, so we can see how far a visit got and for how long (muus_fn_sid, muus_fn_t0).
  • The pages, sections and slides seen (muus_fn_seen).
  • When you open a deck link we sent, the brand name we put in that link (muus_fn_for).

Kept on this device (local storage)

  • A Start a project you have not sent yet, for up to 14 days so you can pick it up again. It is deleted the moment you send it (muus_fn_draft).
  • For visitors in the United States, the first time you found us, for 90 days, so a brief sent later can still say where you came from. It is skipped if you opt out, and in the EU, the UK and Switzerland it is kept only after you accept (muus_ft).
  • That you closed the one line privacy notice, so it does not show again (muus_notice).
  • Your privacy choice, and whether you accepted or declined, for 13 months (muus_optout, muus_consent).

Cookies MUUS sets

Two, both for your privacy choice, each kept for 13 months alongside the copy in local storage: muus_optout, set when you opt out, and muus_consent, set when you accept or decline the banner shown in the EU, the UK and Switzerland. MUUS sets no other cookie of its own.

Testing switches

If a page is opened with one of our own testing flags in the address, a marker in that browser either keeps it out of our own visit records or turns on a preview of the tags on a test copy of the site. A normal link never sets them.

Outside tools and their cookies

Each one loads only when we have switched it on, and never for a browser that sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, or after you opt out. Visitors in the EU, the UK and Switzerland see a banner first, and nothing on this list loads for them unless they press Accept. Visitors in the United States see a one line notice on their first visit. None of these tools ever run on a personal deck link.

  • Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and form events without cookies and without identifying you.
  • Apollo, company level only, sets its own cookie.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag sets its own cookie.
  • Google Analytics, and Google Ads only if we run ads, set Google's own cookies. Google Consent Mode keeps them denied by default in the EU, the UK and Switzerland.
  • Meta Pixel, built but switched off until we run Meta ads, sets its own cookie when on. It never runs on a page with a film.
  • TikTok Pixel, built but switched off until we run TikTok ads, works like Meta's when on. It never runs on a page with a film.
  • Microsoft Advertising (the UET tag), built but switched off until we run Bing ads, works like Meta's when on.

Booking a call

The booking page embeds Google's appointment calendar. When it loads, Google may set its own cookies, under Google's privacy policy.

Your choices

Use Your privacy choices, in the footer of every page while any tool is on, to opt out in this browser. A browser that sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is opted out already, with nothing to press. You can also clear these items in your browser settings at any time, or write to contact@muusmedia.com. Our privacy page has the full account.
